As well as being a poet and Emcee, Daniel is a long-time educator, youthworker and community activist with a particular passion for Muslim-Jewish projects. He works both as a performer and as an educator, and likes nothing better than combining the two roles, which he regularly does for schools, youth groups, etc.
In 2002 he co-founded Emunah, a Muslim-Jewish hip hop and drum & bass crew with which he performed at festivals all over the UK and beyond. In 2007 he left Emunah and shortly after jointly established Lines of Faith, a new Muslim-Jewish project, in collaboration with one of the UK's most respected Muslim emcees and poets, Mohammed Yahya. Lines of Faith draw upon both scriptural and liturgical traditions for lyrical and musical inspiration, fusing ancient wisdom with contemporary issues and language, and all to a beat that moves the crowd.
Daniel is also currently working on the Hip Hop Siddur, a project he hopes will make the beautiful Jewish prayerbook more accessible to young people.
Finally Daniel is founder and Director of Psychosemitic, an events & education agency that focuses on bringing together Muslim, Jewish & Middle Eastern peoples for all kinds of cultural and educational programmes, from raves, hip hop nights, film screenings, graffiti jams to poetry slams and school workshops.
