Shawn Landres is the co-founder and CEO of Jumpstart. An incubator, catalyst, and think tank based in Los Angeles, California, Jumpstart’s mission is to develop, strengthen, and learn from emerging nonprofit organizations that build community at the nexus of spirituality, learning, social activism, and culture, in order to transform the broader Jewish community and the world. In collaboration with The Natan Fund and The Samuel Bronfman Foundation, Jumpstart recently produced The Innovation Ecosystem: Emergence of a New Jewish Landscape, a ground-breaking report on the state of grassroots Jewish innovation that urges philanthropic support for innovation, new metrics for success, and collaboration to reduce costs. In May, Jumpstart co-facilitated a groundbreaking meeting of Jewish social entrepreneurs at the White House. This summer, Jumpstart and Community Partners are launching a full-service operational, administrative, and fiscal management platform for Jewish startup projects and new initiatives. A 2009 Ariane de Rothschild Fellow, Shawn serves as Chair of the Advisory Board of Jewish Mosaic: The National Jewish Center for Sexual & Gender Diversity and is a member of the American Jewish Committee ACCESS Los Angeles Steering Committee, the IKAR Leadership Council, the J Street Advisory Council, the PJA/MPAC Muslim-Jewish New Ground Project advisory board, and the Selah Network Leadership Team. Shawn lives in Los Angeles with his wife Zuzana Riemer Landres and their one year-old daughter Abigail.
