Joel is an actor, director and educator with a background in Jewish community work.

He has an MA in Applied Drama from Goldsmiths, and delivers freelance education and theatre projects both within and beyond the Jewish community.

Joel is a trained Storahtelling artist and Maven, and is the only performer in the UK bringing this work to synagogues, youth movements, bar mitzvahs, summer camps and other communities.

His Jewish theatre company, Merkavah, was founded in 2007 and specialises in promenade and walkabout installations.

He studied Torah at Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo in Jerusalem and has worked extensively with all the major Jewish denominations.

Joel is a founding member and resident of Moishe House London, the Jewish community house in Willesden Green.
