Actor and writer Joel Stanley asks in Parshat Bo what’s it like to be the greatest sidekick ever?

Joel Stanley takes us INSIDE the head of Aaron, Moses’s number one man (ahem…and his brother). Plagues! Confrontations! And poison-tinged political drama where Moses and Pharoah’s attendants attack each other…with snakes??

Gratitude for the Parshat Bo Animated Short

Each week, a different storyteller – some musical, some poetic, some just straight-up, tell the story of the current weekly Torah portion…and then we animate it! This particular Parashat haShavua (פָּרָשַׁת הַשָּׁבוּעַ or “weekly Torah portion”) video is Episode 15 from Parshat Bo (בֹּא “come – go in – go” Exodus 10:1–13:16). Jewish interpretation is often very specific. There are a myriad of Jewish subcultures and people, and the interpretations in this series explores the array of thoughts that our diverse set of storytellers and contributors have on Torah. To see more of the videos in this series, please take a look at our collection here on our site or on our YouTube channel!

A very special thank you to each of the writers, narrators, producers, directors, sound engineers, musicians, educational advisors, artists and animators that contributed to this particular animated interpretation of Parshat Bo including Tim Cosgrove, Nick Fox-Gieg, Sarah Lefton, Kevin Macleod, Colleen Macisaac, Steve Paul, Matthue Roth, Joel Stanley and Jeanne Stern. Additional thanks to all of our generous funders that contributed to the G‑dcast Parashat haShavua animated series.
